Guetta & Afrojack Grab a Grammy...
Guetta & Afrojack Grab a Grammy...
Last year David Guetta was nominated for 5 Grammy awards in 2010 and actually won a Grammy, for his hit ‘When Love Takes Over’ featuring Kelly Rowland. Being nominated for Best Remixed Recording (Non-Classical) along with some of EDM’s biggest artists, Morgan Page, Wolfgang Gartner, and Axwell & Dirty South, David Guetta took home a second consecutive Grammy for his remix with Afrojack of Madonna’s ‘Revolver’.

On hearing the result I thought it may be worth having a listen to the track. Usually Guetta is blacklisted from my speaker  however despite Afrojack’s turn to the dark side, I still think he is a prolific producer… Its big. But obviously produced by Afrojack, as it has all his usual drum samples and synths.

While many of their fans are thrilled to see that their two favorite DJs have won a Grammy this year, I’m heartbroken that probably the best remix of 2010, ‘Sweet Disposition’ did not win the award. It’s too bad that Axwell and Dirty South didn’t get to see a Grammy, but luckily their careers are extremely young. We will surely see each of them win a Grammy in the near future, but this time the judges decided to choose the record with a more worldwide effect on the music industry as a whole.

I guess this is how it’s supposed to be, but im sure the EDM community will not be too happy with these results.
